US State Department

The Department of State is the lead U.S. foreign affairs agency, and its head, the Secretary of State, is the President's principal foreign policy adviser. The Department advances U.S. objectives and interests in the world through its primary role in developing and implementing the President's foreign policy. The Department also supports the foreign affairs activities of other U.S. Government entities and provides an array of important services to U.S. citizens and to foreigners seeking to visit or immigrate to the U.S.

US Department of Commerce

The United States Department of Commerce is a Cabinet department of the United States government concerned with promoting economic growth. The mission of the department is to promote job creation and improved living standards for all Americans by creating an infrastructure that promotes economic growth, technological competitiveness, and sustainable development. Among its tasks are gathering economic and demographic data for business and government decision-making, issuing patents and trademarks, and helping to set industrial standards.

US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA)

The agency funds various forms of technical assistance, early investment analysis, training, orientation visits and business workshops that support the development of a modern infrastructure and a fair and open trading environment.

The Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR)

The agency responsible for developing and conducting trade negotiations at bilateral and multilateral levels.

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)

OPIC's mission is to mobilize and facilitate the participation of United States private capital and skills in the economic and social development of less developed countries and areas, and countries in transition from nonmarket to market economies.

The Export Import Bank of the US (EX-IM Bank)

Ex-Im Bank is the official export credit agency of the United States. Ex-Im Bank's mission is to assist in financing the export of U.S. goods and services to international markets. Ex-Im Bank enables U.S. companies — large and small — to turn export opportunities into real sales that help to maintain and create U.S. jobs and contribute to a stronger national economy.

The Office of the Texas Governor Economic Development & Tourism

This office markets Texas globally as the premier business location and travel destination. It develops strategies to generate leads and inquiries which over time can be developed into business recruitment prospects, export opportunities and tourism – thereby creating jobs and wealth for Texans. The Texas Business Development team is comprised of the following three areas:

Domestic Expansion and Recruitment serves as the primary point of contact for companies looking to expand existing operations in Texas or relocate a business from out of state.

International Business and Recruitment continues to assist Texas companies seeking to expand into foreign markets and encourage foreign investment in Texas.

Business Research provides support with economic and demographic data, analyses and information on industries and communities. The extensive databases and research tools provide accurate and timely information on doing business in Texas – strengthening the state’s ability to recruit and attract business.

Houston International Protocol Alliance

The Protocol Alliance serves the Mayor and the City Council as an advisor on international affairs and protocol and assists the Mayor and other city officials in their interactions with international dignitaries, advises the corporate community and the general public on matters of protocol, cross-cultural relations, international affairs, etiquette and event planning.

The Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council

The Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council is a public-private partnership established in 1986 to promote economic vitality and to ensure quality development in Fort Bend County.

Greater Houston Partnership

The Greater Houston Partnership is the primary advocate of Houston's business community and is dedicated to building economic prosperity in the region. A private, non-profit organization, the Greater Houston Partnership has 1,922 member businesses, employing one of every four area workers, with 75 staff members. More than 130 CEOs or decision-makers from area companies serve on the Partnership’s Board of Directors. This group represents companies of all sizes and nearly every industry sector and geographic area in the region.
